Breast Augmentation in Mumbai

A breast implant is a prosthesis used to change the size, shape, and contour of a person’s breast. In reconstructive plastic surgery, breast implants can be placed to restore a natural looking breast following a mastectomy or to correct congenital defects and deformities of the chest wall.

It’s important to note that, since every woman’s body is unique, there is no exact timeline for recovery. However, most surgeons agree that a full recovery can take on average six weeks or so, and women may notice that they feel perfectly fine after about a week.

Frequently Asking Questions

Both saline and silicone breast implants are considered safe for breast augmentation and breast reconstruction. Research on the safety and effectiveness of both types of implants is ongoing.

The breast implants recovery stages involve some pain, although it is generally “manageable” with the right pain management treatment. … Instead of relying solely on narcotics to control pain during the first few days of recovery, some surgeons recommend pain pumps or pain injections for additional comfort.

As general guidance, it’s recommended to wear a bra continuously for the first month after surgery. After this time, you can go braless but it’s important to note that the increase in breast volume may lead to sagging if you don’t wear a bra for extended periods of time.

Each surgeon has his or her guidelines for postoperative care. Generally, touching the breasts by your partner will be permitted by the surgeon in 4 to 6 weeks post surgery.

You will feel the increased size and area of your chest after the surgery and you will have some sensation of the actual breast implant.

The main things that might influence your choice include:

1. Your natural body shape and frame size – If you have a narrow chest and/or a small frame, you’re limited in the size of implants that you can safely and comfortably wear.
2. The shape and size of your natural breasts or your current breast implants.

Although breast implants don’t actually expire, they aren’t guaranteed to last a lifetime. The average saline or silicone implants may last anywhere from 10 to 20 years.

Keep in mind these four tips for a healthy recovery following your breast augmentation.

1. Plan for assistance. While breast augmentation recovery is not extremely difficult, you will have just undergone major surgery.
2. Proper pain management.
3. Get plenty of rest and sleep.
4. Have plenty of light, healthy foods and water at home.

There are several safe sleeping positions which can keep you comfortable while avoiding any direct pressure on your breasts. Supine position or, sleeping on your back is safe, but an even better back option is to elevate the back, shoulders and head for at least the first two weeks.

After the surgery you will probably feel weak. You may feel sore for 2 to 3 weeks and you’ll likely have a lot of swelling. You may have a pulling or stretching feeling in your breast area. You can expect to feel better and stronger each day, although you may need pain medicine for a week or two.
